Show your American pride!

Make
red, white, and blue ribbon pins or friendship bracelets and distribute
them to your classmates, friends and family to wear and show support.
*Start a SHOW YOUR AMERICAN PRIDE CAMPAIGN in your community.
First, find a craft store or wholesale store, and ask them to either
donate the ribbons and safety pins or sell them to you at a reduced
price.
*Contact the media and tell them what you're doing and why, and ask
that they help you get the word out. Then get some friends together
and start selling the RIBBON PINS in front of grocery stores, at malls,
outside church or at a sporting event. (Ask for permission from the
store owners first.)
*You can sell the RIBBON PINS for any reasonable amount of money.
When your campaign ends, send money collected as a check to the American
Red Cross or another favorite relief effort organization.
*If you want to make ribbon pins, here is what you will need:
blue ribbon 1/4" wide, 6" long
red ribbon 1/8" wide, 6" long
white ribbon 1/8" wide, 6" long
safety pins
gold or silver star sequins
glue sticks
*Steps to make ribbon pins:
1. Spread glue onto one side of the blue ribbon. Place the red and white
ribbon side by side on top of the glued side of the blue ribbon. (One
side will now be blue one side will be red and white)
2. Let ribbon stand to dry for a few minutes. Spread fingers across
ribbon to smooth out unnecessary bumps.
3. With the red and white side of the ribbon facing you, cross the right
side of the ribbon over the middle of the left side forming a loop at
the top.
4. Carefully stick your safety pin under the center of the ribbon through
the middle and again out the back. (This is so the pin is hidden behind
the ribbon.) Fasten the pin.
5. Glue the gold star sequin in the middle.
You have now successfully made your very own patriotic pin to wear on
your bookbag, shirt collar or jacket.
