Plant a tree or flowers as a memorial at home,
school or your neighborhood park

*Plant
a hope tree in your garden at home, school or in a local park! After
getting permission from your parent, guardian, school or Department
of Parks and Recreation, purchase a small tree from your local plant
nursery or have the Parks Department donate one.
*Once you've selected a tree suitable for your type of garden, remember
to ask for planting instructions from the nursery that are right for
your particular type of tree.
*Tulips are a great idea because they will bloom in the spring.
*Also an evergreen tree is a great choice because it will be a living
memorial all year 'round.
*If you live in a warm climate, fruit trees, such as orange or peach
trees, are great. When they finally begin to bear fruit, you can share
them with your friends and family.
*Create your own name plaque to place on the tree or in front of the
garden.
