Assist at a blood drive

*For children ages 8 years old and up

*You can help by volunteering to help distribute forms and pass out cookies and drinks to people who need a little energy boost after they donate blood.

Did you know that according to The Red Cross, "Young people up to age 24 make up 40% of all Red Cross Volunteers?" That's four out of every ten people. If you want to help at a blood drive or with the relief fund, you should:

*Contact your local American Red Cross chapter. You can either call their national toll-free number, 1-800-Help Now, or visit their website at www.redcross.org where you can type in your zip code to find out where your closest Red Cross is located;

*Ask how you can help with an upcoming blood drive for this crisis and for other people who may need blood in the future;

*Don't forget to get your parents' permission before you go.
