Ingredients:

  • 6-7 cups popped popcorn
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion or garlic powder
  • 4 tablespoons melted butter

Supplies

  • Baking sheet
  • Mini paper bags
  • Mixing bowl
  • Mixing spoon
  • Parchment baking paper
  • Spatula
  • Wax paper

Directions

To create the serving bag:

  1. Trim the top end off of a mini paper bag so that it is about 5-inches tall.
  2. Fold the bottom down and fold in half lengthwise.
  3. Cut off the top edges to round them into a semicircle.
  4. Leaving enough room at the top for a small handle (at least 1/2 inch), cut a circle about 1 1/2 inches around near the top of the bag.
  5. Decorate the bag to look like The Good Night sky/
  6. Crumple up 12-inch squares of wax paper, unfold, and push inside the bag to hold the popcorn and to keep the butter and cheese from soaking into the bag from the inside.

To make the Pluto Popcorn:

  1. Pop popcorn in an air popper (Lightly salted white microwave popcorn works just as well)
  2. Pour popped popcorn in mixing bowl. Add melted butter slowly and mix well coating as much of the popcorn as possible.
  3. Sprinkle with onion powder and cheese. Mix with a spoon.
  4. Pour onto baking sheet covered with parchment into a single layer.
  5. Bake at 325 degrees for 7-10 minutes or until the shredded Parmesan is slightly golden.
  6. Cool completely, pour into the wax paper in mini paper bags, trim top of wax paper, and serve.
