Peanut Butter and Jelly Cake
Here's what you will need to make it:
1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
3 ounces softened cream cheese
1 1/2 tablespoons of milk
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup sifted powdered sugar
1 pound cake
jam or jelly
bowl
spoon
knife (for cutting cake and spreading)
Here's what you have to do:
1.
Check with a grown-up before you begin.
2.
Wash your hands.
3.
Mix 1/2 cup of creamy peanut butter and 3 ounces of softened cream cheese in a bowl.
4.
Slowly add 1 1/2 tablespoons of milk and 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract.
5.
Add 1/2 cup sifted powdered sugar.
6.
Mix until it's smooth and spread-able.
7.
Slice two pieces of pound cake 1/4 inch wide - (See, doesn't it look like a piece of white bread?)
8.
Spread one slice with peanut butter frosting, the other with jam or jelly. (The ZOOMers used strawberry jam.)
9.
Put the pieces of cake together like a pb & j sandwich.
10.
Slice the cake in half, into triangles or rectangles (whichever looks more like a sandwich to you.)
11.
Make sure you've got a big glass of milk handy before you dig in!
