• Sarah, 8, once dreamed that she was living in a mansion.

• David, 10, says that: "My best dream I ever had was when all the people that I loved in my family who died came back to live forever."

• Rachel, 11, had this great dream: "I got to keep about a hundred kittens, and didn't even have to clean out the litter boxes!!!"

Lots of cool stuff that rarely (or never) happens in real life happens in our dreams all the time. Happy or joyful dreams could be a way to relieve stress, and they could be a way to explore what we want out of life. If your dreams are always about sports, maybe you have a deep desire to be a professional athlete. If you dream about the water, your fantasy may be to live near the beach or work on a sailing ship.

For many of us, the time between going to bed and waking up is like a whole extra life that doesn't work by the same rules as the regular world, and where anything is possible. Happy dreams are there to explore and enjoy, and hopefully, some of that happiness will carry over into your non-dreaming life, whether you remember the details of your good dreams or not.

Dreams can sometimes seem very weird and often make no sense, but there's nothing unnatural about them. It's best to enjoy them as a natural part of sleeping, and as really interesting stories...told to you by your very own mind!
