All the house painting is done by women. This is a refresher paint job to prepare for a farewell celebration honoring boys from the village who will be departing for a special trip.

| Ndebele people are part of a larger group called the Nguni tribes. They are distantly related to the Zulu. But Ndebele villages can easily be spotted because of these bright designs. The women do all the painting. They also make all kinds of bead work with the same kinds of colors and designs. If you go to Winterveldt, it is like walking in an art gallery. But the art is the walls, instead of being on the walls! |
