A Father's Day Cookie Recipe

Ingredients

• 1 cup butter, softened
• 2/3 cup sugar
• 1 egg
• 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
• 1/8 teaspoon salt
• 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
• 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour

Supplies

• Mixing bowl
• 2 or 3-inch star-shaped cookie cutter

Directions

1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
2. Mix the butter and sugar until very fluffy and well blended.
3. Add the egg, baking powder, salt, and vanilla. Blend together, while stirring in flour until smooth.
4. Divide the dough in half and shape into circles and roll dough.
5. Using 2- or 3-inch star-shaped cutters, place the cutter onto the dough. Press gently and lift the star shape onto the cookie sheet.
6. Bake 8 to 10 minutes in the preheated oven, or until golden. Let stand on cookie sheet two minutes to cool, before removing.
7. Once cooled, add decorative icing for your #1 Dad or any other special day!
