Dragon Tales' Egg-Celent Dragon Craft

Use your imagination to create a one-of-a-kind dragon out of an egg carton!

Materials

  • Cardboard egg cartons cut into 12 separate cups
  • Pipe cleaners
  • Craft paint (You can use blue, pink, yellow, purple and green to match the characters from Dragon Tales!)
  • Paint brushes
  • Craft glue
  • Pieces of craft foam for decoration
  • Colored paper cut into triangles for wings
  • Googly eyes
  • Hole-puncher
  • Pieces of ribbon and craft foam to make Dragon Tale medallions

Instructions

Before the party:
 

  1. Punch holes into either side of the egg carton pieces.
  2. String the pieces together using pipe cleaners to create a chain. You’ll want one chain for each child.
  3. Make medallions by cutting shapes out of the craft foam. Punch a hole in each piece and string ribbon through the hole.



At the party:

  1. Kids decorate their egg carton chains with paint, felt, or foam. Foam shapes can be glued to the top of the carton pieces as scales.
  2. Create a face on the first egg carton piece with googly eyes.
  3. Triangles of colored paper can be glued onto the sides as wings.
  4. Lastly, tie a medallion, or "badge," around the dragon’s neck.
