You want some advice about your crush, but you don’t want to just come out and tell Big Tess that Susie is the girl you like. You decide to keep your questions a little vague.
“I’ve got a crush on someone,” you say, “but I don’t exactly know how to come out and tell her.”
Tess pauses for a moment, then smiles. “Well,” she says, “That can be a tricky situation. It’s natural to have feelings about someone who you look up to, but it’s not always the best thing to do anything about those feelings, especially if the other person is a lot older than you.”
At first, you’re confused by what Tess is saying. But wait a minute…Tess must think that you have a crush on HER!
“Oh, no!” you say. “Tess, I don’t have a crush on you! I mean… I like you and all, but it’s Susie I have the crush on!”
Suddenly, Luke walks by your seat. He’s heard part of your conversation!
