Both you and Luke have crushes on Susie, but only one guy can take her to the Rodeo Dance. As soon as you and the other guys get to your cabin at the bottom of the canyon, you volunteer to take first watch so you can find Susie before Luke does.
You find Susie down by the river, gathering water. It’s a beautiful night, and Susie looks pretty in the glow from Lonestar 3, hanging huge up in the sky.
“It sure is a nice night,” you say. “But then, it’s always night on this side of the moon.”
“That’s what I hear,” says Susie.
“Do you…” you’re nervous, but you ask anyway. “Do you want to be my date to the dance tomorrow?”
“That would be great!” says Susie, smiling. “I’ll see you there.”
As she walks off, you know you should be happy…but you can’t help but feel like you’ve done a bad thing to your buddy Luke.
