Play this fun estimation game with a friend
Directions
left border Print out two copies of the grid with the jellybeans. After you've printed the pictures out, hide 1 and cut the other along the grid lines to form a set of 20 squares. Use the squares as cards and stack them in a pile.

Goal
left border Each card is a sample of the number of jelly beans that have fallen on a square. Your friend will use the squares to estimate the total number of jellybeans. The friend may choose 3 cards from the pile to make his/her first estimate.

left border "There are 20 squares of tile on the floor of the candy store. The clerk dropped a jar of jellybeans. I will show you the picture of the jellybeans on the floor -- but only for 2 seconds. You will have a stack of cards that shows the number of beans on each square. Pick any 3 cards and use them to estimate the total number. You win if your estimate is within 10 jellybeans of the total."

Try this with several friends and keep track of their answers. There are 120 jellybeans total.
