Print out two copies of the grid with the jellybeans. After you've printed the pictures out, hide 1 and cut the other along the grid lines to form a set of 20 squares. Use the squares as cards and stack them in a pile.

Each card is a sample of the number of jelly beans that have fallen on a square. Your friend will use the squares to estimate the total number of jellybeans. The friend may choose 3 cards from the pile to make his/her first estimate.

Use a tile floor or large square graph paper.
Dump paperclips, or coins on the floor.
Spread cereal, popcorn, or rice on the large graph paper.
Use the squares to help you make an estimate.
